Ingredients

    3/4 c. half and half cream
    1/2 c. skim milk
    1/2 t salt
    1/4 t garlic powder
    3 medium potatoes, peeled, thinly sliced
    1 c seasoned croutons, divided
    1/8 t pepper
    1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

In a medium saucepan, bring cream, milk, salt and garlic powder to a boil. Add potatoes; reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 10-15 mins or until the potatoes are tender. Coarsely crush 1/4 cup of croutons. Remove potatoes from the heat; stir in the crushed croutons and pepper. Pour into a greased 1-1/2 qt. baking dish. Sprinkle with the cheese and remaining croutons. Bake, uncovered at 400 deg for 5-6 mins or until cheese is melted.

    I don't know what the high fat version is but I'm thinking that 297 calories is still a bit to high for a side dish for me. - 4/8/09
