Ingredients

lentis cooked 1 cup
tamarind pulp 1 cup
green bell peppers 1/2 cup diced
mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
cumin seeds 1 tsp
coriander seeds 2.5 tbsp
chilli powder 2 tbsp
water 2 cups
oil 1 tbsp
salt 2 taste
Directions
boil lentils n mash them well n keep them aside.
dry roast coriander seeds and grind them fine with chilli powder.(this can be made in large amounts n stored in the refrigerator for upto 6mnths)
in a pot,heat a tbsp of oil.add mustard seeds n cumin seeds.(u can add 2 dry red chillies,2 green chillies and some curry leaves if u get them..)
when the seeds start 2 crackle,add the bell peppers n stir them for about 2 mins.
now add the tamarind pulp with 2 cups of water, coriander n chilli powder mixture n salt 2 taste.
let this boil for about 15 mins.
now add the boiled and mashed lentils to this n let it boil to a slightly thicker consistency.
serve this hot with rice.
this makes about 3 servings.but do not store this for more than a day.
u can use any vegetable like carrots,sliced onions,radish,roughly chopped spinach etc
