Introduction

For those that used to love HB Helper Rice Oriental before it was discontinued this comes pretty close. It could be made healthier using ground turkey and fresh veggies instead of powdered but my family won't eat it that way. Also good with mushrooms added in the last few minutes of cooking. Ingredients

    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 T onion powder - or one med. onion (diced)
    1 T garlic powder - or 1 garlic clove (minced)
    1 (1 1/4 oz) pkg onion soup mix
    1 cup raw rice
    2 T soy sauce
    2 cups water

Directions

cook lean ground beef, drain if needed. Add onion pwd, garlic pwd, onion soup mix, soy sauce and water. Cook for 20 mins or until the rice is done and water gone.
