Introduction

This recipe was my Grandma's. She rolled it into a ball and rolled it in crushed walnuts before putting it on the table. I don't bother with the nuts. Also, one box of Ritz crackers (4 sleeves) is the perfect size for this cheese ball. Add more minced garlic if you like garlic. The cheese ball tastes better if you let it blend overnight in the refrigerator, but it can also be eaten after you mix it. :-) This recipe was my Grandma's. Ingredients

    4 oz Blue Cheese
    16 oz Cream Cheese
    1 tsp minced garlic

Directions

In a small to medium size mixing bowl, using a fork, mix all the ingredients together. Make sure that all the blue cheese is thoroughly mixed in with the cream cheese (no lumps). Cover it tightly and refrigerate overnight.

There are 140 crackers in a box of Ritz crackers. This cheese ball will usually last the whole box. I put the servings as 140, so just record how many you've eaten.

A warning about this cheese ball - it's addicting, and you might not want to eat anything else until it's gone. That's satisfying, but not healthy.

My only addition was a little onion powder since I like it. You can also serve this with the reduced fat Ritz or low sodium varieties. - 6/14/09
