Introduction

This is the very best recipe I've ever found but I add a bit of broth to make the liquid up to a full cup because the juice can is less than needed. I also use more onion and added red pepper because I had it on hand. Ingredients

    1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef (or combination with ground venison or elk)
    1 whole egg
    1 small can V-8 juice (5.5 oz.)
    1/4 c. chicken broth
    1/2 - 3/4 c. chopped sweet onion
    1/4-1/2 c. chopped sweet red pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    pepper as desired
    3/4 c. quick or old fashioned oatmeal, dry

Directions

Beat egg slightly with a fork and add liquids. Mix well into ground meat(s), onion/pepper and oatmeal. Press into bread pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let set for 5 minutes before serving.
