    Lentils, 150 grams
    Onions, raw, 3 tbsp chopped
    Red Ripe Tomatoes, .35 cup, chopped or sliced
    Curry powder, 1 tsp
    Butter, unsalted, 1 tbsp


ring lentils to a boil in water, lower to simmer and cook until tender and water is absorbed, adding more water if needed. (20-30 minutes). Saute onion spices and tomatoes in butter or oil and mix in to lentils, salt to taste. Serve with brown rice or chapati and steamed greens.

    I do something similar, but spicier. I add garlic, ginger, turmeric, cayenne, coriander seed, cloves as well as the curry powder, and buttermilk or yogurt, based on a traditional recipe. It's amazingly good and simple. - 12/12/11

    Very yummy and filling! I made it w/o the butter to cut the fat. It keeps well to eat the next day, too. - 7/10/09
