Introduction
This is a delightful desert using fresh blueberrys. However I have substituted blueberries for strawberries, strawberries and rubarb, and rubarb. You can add any fruit of equal amount, you like. Ingredients

Berry Layer
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup of water
2 cups of fresh or frozen fruit
1 tbsp lemon juice
Oatmeal Crust and Topping
1.5 cups of rolled oats
1 cup of all purpose flour
3/4 cup packed brown supar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
pinch salt
1 cup of butter or margarine, melted (I usually cut the butter down to 3/4 cup)
BERRY LAYER: In a medium saucepan, stir the sugar and cornstarch together. Mix in the water, blueberries, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil; stirring. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring until slightly thickened, about 3-5 min. cool.
OATMEAL LAYERS: Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease an 8" square pan. In a large bowl, stir together the oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Drizzle with the melted butter and toss with a fork ntil well combined. Press half of this mixture into the baking pan. cover with the berry mixture. sprinkle with the remaining oat mizture. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

This receipe makes an 8"x8" pan of squares

I also make this recipie with strawberries, rubarb, strawberry rubarb, and apples.
You can substitute any fruit you like.
Let me know what changes you did. I have been toying with the idea of using substitute sugar and other thing ingredients, that will give it less calories
