Introduction
I was looking for something to fill the desert crepes I made, and decided on using the apples I had. I made an apple pie filling of sorts. I'd rather that I had something other than granny smith apples, but they worked. The added sugar helped to curb their tartness. Add more or less sugar to taste. Ingredients
-
2 med Green Granny Smity apples
Grnd Nutmeg 1 tsp
Grnd Cloves 1 tsp
Granulated sugar 1/4 cup
Directions
1.) Skin, core, and cut up the apples into small 1/2 or smaller pieces.
2.) Add sugar, nutmeg, and cloves. Mix apples and spices thoroughly.
3.) Let sit for 20 mins or so, to let the natural juice form the apples seep out. Let sit for longer if you feel not enough of the apples' juice has come out.
4.) If the apple mixture has too much juice in it, add some flour by the tsp. Too much flour will give it a sticky, doughy texture.
Makes about ten 1/5 cup serving.
