Introduction

Healthier alternative to beef for all those who like to hunt and save money on their food bill! Healthier alternative to beef for all those who like to hunt and save money on their food bill!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 small deer roast (about 9 onces when cooked)
1 cup Sweet and Spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce

Directions

Slow cook the roast with whatever spices you like. I like to put a few peppercorns, a little onion, and red pepper flakes in the water, along with a brown gravy mix to help give the meat a good taste. (It also helps take away the "gamey" taste.) After it is done cooking take it out of the water and shred it. Put in a large bowl and add 1cup of your favorite BBQ sauce, and there you have delicious homemade bbq that is healthier than beef. (You can also use beef, turkey, etc.)

A 9 oz. roast yields 4--1/2 cup servings. (very large when put on a sandwhich). If you need more just cook a larger roast!
