No need for an ice cream maker if you happen to have a serious craving for something sweet.The overall effort to make this ice cream is fairly simple and quick (not counting freezing time). And there really IS nothing better than some good old fashioned, home made ice cream. No need for an ice cream maker if you happen to have a serious craving for something sweet.

Ingredients

1 cup milk (calculations use 2%)
Half cup Sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. peppermint extract
2 cups heavy whipping cream
Half cup semisweet chocolate chips
10 drops green food coloring
Directions
In a saucepan, combine milk, egg whites and sugar and heat over meIn a saucepan, combine milk, egg whites and sugar and heat over medium heat. Stirring constantly (as to not cook the eggs or curdle the milk), heat only until tiny bubbles form along the edges. About 3 or 4 minutes.
Add vanilla extract and peppermint extract.
Put into large bowl and then into freezer until semi frozen (about an hour or hour and a half).
Beat cream (on high) to soft peaks. Fold into semi frozen mixture. Add 10 drops of green food coloring and mix thouroghly. Return to freezer for about 2 hours, until half frozen.
Fold in chips and return to freezer for a few more hours (preferably overnight). Although if your house is anything like mine, it won't make it over night. :) Enjoy!
