    1/3 cup Olive Oil
    1 medium size Onion, cut into 6 slices
    6 large Portabella Mushroom caps
    1/3 cup chopped Fresh Basil
    2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
    1 tsp. Lemon Juice
    1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
    3 cloves Garlic, chopped
    6 Romaine Lettuce Leaves
    6 medium Tomato slices


Prepare outdoor grill or indoor grill pan.

Whisk together oil and garlic, brush on both sides of onion and mushrooms.

Grill onions and mushrooms, covered with grill lid over medium heat (350-400 degrees) for 4 minutes on each side or until tender.

Mix together basil, dijon mustard, lemon juice, pepper and spread over mushroom caps. Serve on whole wheat bun (not included in calories) or eat as-is with romaine lettuce leaf!

    I've always enjoyed mushrooms, but this was my first ever portabella mushroom burger and it was amazing. I even ate two of them. I will definitely be making these regularly! Thank you for the great recipe! - 5/11/11

    Absolutely awesome - I eat it at least once a week. The flavor and consistency is like that of a steak. i even got my neice to eat a bite one day and now she wants one whenever she comes over :) - 9/28/10
