Introduction

I wanted to make my own! I wanted to make my own!
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    4 c. milk
    1/3 c. dry milk
    2T non fat yogurt(culture)

Directions

Bring milk to 180 degrees in a double boiler or 8 minutes in the microwave. Let milk cool to 110 degrees and add yogurt culture.

Put into a steriled container, keep at 100 degrees for 7 hours. I used my crock pot with water and checked it often. Also can use an oven. A yogurt maker is the BEST. Each serving is a 1/2 cup. Add what you like.

I make this recipe all the time. The only thing I do different is to put the yogurt in a canning jar with saran wrap on the top and then stick it overnight in the microwave. It is an excellent insulator. Don't turn on the microwave just put it in there. I LOVE this recipe!!! Thanks - 8/13/09

I use a heating pad set to med/med high during the 7 hr. wait portion. Just stick your pot on the heating pad, cover, and throw a dish towel over it. - 3/24/11
