Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    2 pounds lean ground turkey
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large green bell pepper, chopped
    3 cups long grain brown rice, cooked
    1 tbsp salt
    1 tsp fresh ground black pepper
    1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
    1 medium head of green cabbage
    26 oz can of garden vegetable pasta sauce

Directions

Cut core from the center of the head of cabbage.
Boil entire head in a large pot of water for 45 minutes. Prepare rice according to the directions on the package. Deduct 5 minutes of cooking time from the package recommendation.
While the rice and cabbage are cooking, chop onion, green pepper and parsley.
Combine turkey, onion, green pepper, parsley, rice, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
Seperate leaves of cabbage head carefully.
Place 1/2 cup of meat mixture on each leaf and roll up tightly.
Place the rolls on a 9 X 13 baking pan.
Spoon sauce over the rolls.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

    Appreciate comments i.e. boil to prevent crispy- simmer in skillet on stove about 40 min- put less in each roll- spice it- red pepper flakes, garlic, mushrooms - soy or Italian sauce- a little cheese... but my most favorite tip-
    ALIJERSEY- layer in crock pot and slow cook for 8 hrs on low.

    Pretty good, I ended up making 1/2 a batch of the filling and whole med cabbage and still ended up with extra filling..not a prob, it was yummy! Will make again - 2/8/09
