Introduction

Special bars my Mom made for me. I loved them and used to hide them from the other kids in the family. Special bars my Mom made for me. I loved them and used to hide them from the other kids in the family.
Number of Servings: 18

Ingredients

    2 cups of dry minute Oats
    1 & 3/4 cups of white flour
    1 packed cup of brown sugar
    1/2 t Baking Soda
    1 package of condensed mincemeat
    1 cup of butter or shortening.

Directions

Crumble apart the mincemeat in a medium pan and add 1 & 1/2 cup water...bring to a boil for about 1 minute. Set aside.

Chop the rolled minute oats in a food processor just a little. Put in a medium size bowl with flour, brown sugar, baking soda and mix carefully. Add 1 cup soft butter to the dry mixture and cut in until half of the mixture can be kind of packed in the 8x12 greased pan. Then add all the mincemeat mixture on top of the oat mixture and smooth out. Layer on the other half of the oat mixture on top of the mincemeat. Smooth out and bake at 350* for 40 minutes. This make 18 bars (268 calories per bar)
