Number of Servings: 36

Ingredients

    Step one:
    3 cups Warm Water (hot tap)
    3 tsp. dry yeast
    1/3 cup honey
    5 cups white flour (can be substituted- be careful though)

    Step two:
    3 Tbsp. butter (softened or melted)
    1/3 cup honey
    1 Tbsp. salt
    3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

    Step five:
    2 Tbsp. melted butter

Directions

Step one:
In large bowl combine water, yeast and honey. Add the white flour mixing well. Let sit in warm place for 30 minutes or until big and bubbly.

Step two:
Mix in second steps soft/melted butter, honey and salt. Stir in 2 cups whole wheat flour. Flour flat surface and knead with the remaining whole wheat flour until not too sticky to pull of counter, but still sticky. This may take up five cups Whole wheat flour total.
Place in a greased bowl coating all of the dough in oil.
Cover with a dish towel and let rise until double the size in a warm place (about 1 hour)

Step three:
Punch down and divide into three. roll into oval shapes making sure to squeeze bubbles out. Place into greased bread pans. Let rise for about another hour.

Step four:
Bake at 350 degree for 20-25 minutes.

Step five:
Lightly brush with butter. Let cool 10-20 minutes in the pans and the rest on cooling rack.
