Introduction

I used both whole wheat flour and white bread flour to keep these buns fluffy and light while still being healthier than plain white buns. Prep time listed doesn't include time that the bread maker mixes the dough. Ingredients

    * *Whole Wheat Flour, 2.5 cup
    * *Flour, white, 2 cup
    * Brown Sugar, 1/3 cup
    * Salt, 2 tsp
    * Butter, salted, 1 tbsp
    * *Canola Oil, 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp
    * Milk, nonfat, 1 and 1/3 cup
    * Yeast, bakers, 1 package (2.5 tsp)

Directions

Makes 16 buns

Put ingredients in the bread pan in the order given by the manufacturer (mine would be milk, oil, butter, brown sugar, salt, flour and yeast). Set on dough cycle and periodically check on the dough once it starts mixing to make sure it doesn't need any more moisture (just add water to keep nutritional counts the same). When dough is ready, place on a floured board and cut into 16 equal pieces. I find it easy to cut the dough ball in half, and then each half in half again three times to end up with more equal pieces.

Form each piece into a ball and place on a cookie sheet lined with either silicone baking mats or parchment paper. Place in a warm place to double in size. Bake for about 20 minutes (this will vary depending on how close together your buns are on the sheets) at 350 degrees F.
