Ingredients
-
2 cups rolled or steel cut oats
.25 cup wheat germ
.5 cup real maple syrup
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp water
.25 cups slivered almonds
Directions
Makes about 8 servings for yogurt or ice cream
2 cups rolled or steel cut oats
.5 cup real maple syrup
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp water
.25 cups slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 350
Mix all ingredients together until well moistened
Spread all ingredients on a cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes
Stir the ingredients well or turn them onto a clean sheet of parchment or foil
(Don't worry about what sticks, and some will. When the foil or parchment is cool the granola
that stuck will easily break off)
Bake for another 10 minutes
Take out of the oven and let cool
When the granola is completely cool it will be crunchy, store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, if it lasts that long.
Each serving is about 1/2 cup, 1 cup if you use it as cereal
