Ingredients

2 cups oats
3/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup whole almonds
2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup honey
4 TBS butter
2 teas. vanilla
1/2 teas. salt
8 oz dried fruit
Directions
Toast the oats and wheat germ on a baking sheet in the oven at 350 degrees for about 5-10 minutes until lightly browned. Toast the almonds for about 10 minutes separately until slightly browned.
Cook the sugar, honey and butter in a saucepan on the stove until bubbly. Remove from heat and add vanilla and salt.
Put the oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, almonds and dried fruit in a bowl. Add the sugar, honey and butter mixture and mix well.
Line a 8 x 8 baking pan with wax paper and press the mixture into it. Let cool and set. Peel the wax paper off the back and cut into bars.
Makes about 16 bars
