    1 Package Beef Stew Seasoning Mix
    4 Cups water
    3/4 Package baby carrots
    2 large yellow onions
    4 celery stalks
    1 cup frozen lima beans (optional)
    1 cup red wine
    1.25 cups brown rice
    2 bay leaves
    2 tsp. canola oil (for browning beef before putting in crockpot)


Brown beef in a skillet w/salt and pepper in 2 tsp of canola oil (do not crowd the pan or it will never brown).

Put in crockpot
Chop onions and celery and quickly saute in pan that you browned the beef in then put in crockpot.

Add 3 cups water and seasoning packet.

After 4 hours put in brown rice, red wine, limas, and 1 more cup of water along with bay leaves.

cook for 2 more hours.

makes 10 1 cup servings
