Introduction

This is a quick slow cooker recipe that is tender, flavorful and satisfying.

The sodium could be cut drastically with a low-sodium soy sauce and by substituting a low-sodium stock for the bouillon and water. (I just used what I had on-hand!)

Ingredients

    1 pound thin sliced top or bottom round steak
    1 large onion, cut into chunks
    6 to 8 tablespoons soy sauce
    1 tablespoon garlic powder
    1/4 cup water
    1 beef bouillon cube

Directions

Cut round steaks in 1-inch strips, trimming off all excess fat. Put strips into crock pot. Over this add onion chunks, garlic powder, bouillon cub and soy sauce. Pour water over meat mixture. Cook on HIGH for 2.5-3 hours or LOW for 6 hours.

Serve over brown rice with steamed vegetables.
