Ingredients

2 lge. pitas halved
1/2 tsp paprika
dash garlic powder
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 red onion, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves minced
dash cayenne pepper
dash crushed red pepper
580 g chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 lemon
1 Tbsp. parsley
100 g. feta cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 400. Split open pitas and brush with olive oil mixed with paprika and garlic powder. Brush remaining olive oil mixture on the baking pan, then pop the pitas in the oven for about 5 mins.
Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil over med high heat. Add red onion and carmelize. Add cloves and chili and stir about 1 minute. Add chickpeas. Add more olive oil if necessary. Grate lemon rind over the mixture, then squeeze lemon juice in. Add parsley and stir about 1 minute. Add 1/2 of the feta cheese, crumbled with your hands, stir until it starts to melt. Remove from heat, add the rest of the feta. Now the pitas should be ready. Serve together.
