Introduction

This is a knock-off of a Biggest Loser recipe that we changed due to allergies and personal preference. The original uses ground beef, onions and grape juice instead of ground turkey, mushrooms and beef broth. The original uses ground beef, onions and grape juice instead of ground turkey, mushrooms and beef broth.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    1 lb Extra Lean Ground Turkey Breast
    3/4 cup cooked brown rice
    1 TBSP Italian Seasoning (I use Mrs. Dash)
    1 TBSP minced garlic
    1 1/3 cup beef broth
    1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
    2 cups sliced mushrooms.
    non stick cooking spray

Directions

Combine ground turkey, rice, seasoning and garlic. Mix well.
Form into 4 even patties about 1" thick.
Spray pan with non-stick spray and cook patties over high heat for 2-4 minutes per side or until done.
Transfer patties to a plate and keep warm.
Add mushrooms, broth and balsamic vinegar to pan and bring to a boil. Allow broth to boil until reduced to about half (around 10 minutes).
Pour mushroom gravy over patties and serve.

    I made this with venison and added onions, as well. It was delicious. Will definitely be adding this to my cookbook and making it again. - 12/20/10
