I omitted the salt and used white pepper, used Better Than Boullion Vegetable Base, cooked in slow cooker for 8 hours, no need to puree. Will make often. - 2/10/10

This sounds great. I LOVE pea soup, but the only way I've ever had it is with chunks of ham in it. I'm excited, and will be making this for dinner tonight. - 3/10/09

Delicious. I used home made broth instead of bouillon cubes to cut down on salt, but the spices and veggies were wonderful. - 8/2/10

Outstanding recipe, I made it a couple of days ago. It is very hearty, you do not miss the ham in this recipe. I did not puree it, it was soft enough. - 10/8/09
