Baked BBQ'd Beef Back Ribs

These are one of our favorites when we get the hankering for some good home barbecued food. We used to use Sweet Baby Ray's Barbecue Sauce but have found a new, much easier on the diet grilling sauce put out by Sweet Baby Ray.

The ribs themselves yield about 1/3 to 1/4 of their weight as edible meat. So of the 2 packs of ribs where the combined weight is 260 oz. we figure the overall yield is roughly 65 oz. The rest is bone, fat and cartiledge.

These ribs are absolutely one of our favorite meals.

They're served best with a baked potato (make mine a yam), a tossed salad, a side of vegetable (I like steamed asparagus).

Prep is minimal when you already have your grilling sauce on hand.Submitted by: FYRCOP

Don't let the carb or calorie count on this one fool you. For some reason the calorie count is way off on the Splenda. It should be minimal as it's zero calorie sweetner so I'd reduce the calorie count by 390 just on that alone. Most the carbs are in the marinade and doesn't get absorbed in to the food. Likewise, the calories can be significantly reduced by taking that in to account as well as you can substitute the beef short ribs for veal scallopini. A good recipe for those on a carb and sugar free diet.Submitted by: OMEAEMO

Created Sat Aug 1st with using up what's in house, No bbq sauce, so made my own from Black strap molassas, ketchup, hot sauce, a bit of garlic teriyaki for depth, and copious spices.
The 1.5 pounds of short ribs with bones cooked down to about 6 ounces (2 servings) of lean meat. I entered the nutrition info from www.fitbit.com for RAW, lean but don't know if there's in boneless or bone in.
while this is about 5-6 cups of vegetables with juice, there's only 2 servings of meat. I will probably count a vegetable only serving as 1/2 a serving to make up for it, though there's probably fat and some protein cooked into the veggiesSubmitted by: CCKELLY3
