Canned ingredients add to a very high sodium content for this recipe. Instead of canned beans, soak dry beans over night and cook longer. Add fresh tomatoes later in the cooking process. Otherwise, great recipe.
This soup is absolutely delicious and very easy to make. The men in the house love it and they don't usually like soups but it's very hearty and tasty! We also use the extra lean ground beef to keep the amount of fat low.
