Nutrition & Calorie Comments  

These were good...but abit sweet next time I would adjust the sugars...to 1/8 each. Great way to get the fibre!
I substituted apple cider for the sugar & buttermilk. Not sweet enough. Might try prune juice and/ or half the sugar. I added walnuts to the second half batch. Will not waste - might make some triffle. Pudding and whipped cream can fix anything! ;-D Black Forest should do! :-D
Simply the best bran muffins I have ever had ... was not big on bran muffins until I found this recipe, now this will be part of my sunday prep for the week !! I used (baking & brown sugar blend) in lieu of real sugar and used all whole wheat flour for the added benefit and they turned out perfect !
This recipe worked well subsitiuting splenda and splenda brown sugar blend.
