Nutrition & Calorie Comments

Love this ! It was so good. I added a little crab meat and Mozella Cheese to it the second time. Put it on a low sodium Cracker. So good.
I think I'll blended it too well and took out some of the texture, but no one guessed it was low fat!
fat free greek yogurt is a great substitute to FF sour cream..i actually prefer it. RED ROBIN serves their S & A Dip with diced tomato and red onion on top and celery as a dipper (along with french bread and tortilla chips), but i would go with toasted weight watchers pita bread(cut into triangles).
I substituted Fat Free Plain Yogurt for the sour cream and it was a HUGE hit at my party. :) I think next time I'll use fresh spinach, though. It took forever for the spinach to thaw and had I used fresh spinach, I could have just washed it in the salad spinner and thrown it into the blender, too.
I have been looking for a recipe like this since I had a similar (high-calorie, I'm sure) appetizer at Applebee's.
I love this recipe. I also add in 8 oz of fat free cream cheese. It doubles the servings for the same amount of calories. Excellent!
The FF sour cream I use has fewer calories than Breakstone, so I was able to add some "embellishments" and keep the calorie count virtually the same. I added 1/2 an envelope of Mrs. Grass' vegetable soup mix, increased the sour cream to 3/4 cup, and added 1/4 c. of chopped scallions. DELISH!
This was a HUGE hit at my last gathering -- due to personal preference, I used low-fat cottage cheese and sour cream, and it was still wonderful. Even the non-healthy eaters love it!
This is delicious even with using reduced fat products!
Very tasty! Great with corn chips & french bread too.
However, being familiar with many of the full-fat versions, well, I miss the fat!
