Ingredients

1.25lb Lean Ground Turkey
2 tbsp olive oil
2 Onions, chopped
1 Green Peppers, diced
Garlic, 4 cloves, crushed
Cumin powder, 1 tbsp
Chili powder, 1 tbsp
Brown Sugar, 2 tbsp packed
Lea & Perrins, Worcestershire Sauce, 2 tbsp
1 cup Ketchup
Directions
Soften onions, green pepper, garlic in saute pan. Add cumin, chili powder, stir over med heat til fragrant. Add ground turkey, cook till brown.
Add ketchup, brown sugar, and worcestershire sauce, cook until heated through.
Serve plain, open-faced atop a slice of whole wheat bread or on a whole wheat bun. Nutrition values caculated here are without bread.

It was pretty good and I will definitely make this again! I made some changes though. I used the no salt added tomato sauce to reduce the sodium. I also cut the olive oil in half and added 3 TBSP of Flax seed for the Omega 3 and Fiber. I only had dehydrated onion, I'd rather have used fresh. - 10/18/12

I made this recipe for my boyfriend and I. I have never made sloppy joes before and this was a hit. My boyfriend ate all the leftovers. I've never seen food disappear so fast. I did use tomatoe sauce instead of the ketchup like many other. It was delicious. It has already been requested again. - 5/11/12

This was sooo yummy. I pureed the onions and mixed 1/2 and 1/2 of ketchup and tomato sauce and it was much more flavorful and sweet. My daughter who normally doesn't like ground turkey kept stealing extra bites from my plate! I had the leftovers in a whole wheat pita with lots of fresh veggies! - 5/7/10
