Just a note, I recalculated this with 16 oz bow tie pasta, and 16 oz ground pork Italian sausage just to check and the calories were 498 calories per serving with 8 servings. - 2/2/10

This was very tasty and the whole family loved it. I agree w/ another user that heavy cream made no sense so I used a 5oz container of plain greek yogurt. It turned out great! I will leave out the pepper flakes next time though. - 5/21/12

This was delicious and a big hit in my home. I used Italian turkey sausage, omitted the olive oil, added diced mushrooms and only used 1 C of fat free half and half. Thanks for the recipe!! - 7/8/08

I used a can of tomato sauce as my picky eaters don't like "chunks" and they really seemed to like it. - 9/14/11

Was a little spicy for the kids, next time I'll cut down on the pepper flakes. Also, my half and half seperated a bit as it was reducing. Didn't effect the flavor at all, just looked a little unappealing. Overall a very good recipe! - 3/29/11

This sounds really good but I am not understanding the recipes that call for heavy cream, etc. Even if you can afford the calories it is the fat we should be avoiding...isn't it? My cardiologist uncle told me that heavy cream is like cement in your arteries. - 1/4/11

We really liked this recipe. I wasn't sure what size can of diced tomatoes to use, so I bought the smaller, typical size can. It came out good. I would turn down the stove before adding the cream to avoid curdling. We used hot turkey sausage and 1 Tbsp of oil instead of 2. This had a nice kick! - 4/5/09

I made a lot of changes in both the spices and cream amount. I also added mushrooms to mine. - 3/13/20

I didn't have any bowties so I used the penti, which I like better anyway. - 2/12/19
