Introduction
I know it sounds weird: chocolate cake and tofu, together? It's so tasty, and a much healthier way to eat cake! I know it sounds weird: chocolate cake and tofu, together? It's so tasty, and a much healthier way to eat cake!Number of Servings: 16
Ingredients
-
1 box super moist chocolate cake mix
1-300g block of soft/dessert tofu
1/4 cup water
Directions
With a food processor or blender (I use my hand/stick blender), mix cake mix and tofu together.
Once mixed, add 1/4 cup water and blend again until smooth.
Pour into baking dish and cook according to the directions on the cake mix box, depending what type of dish you use. Sometimes I make cupcakes, sometimes I make a cake and cut it into squares.
DO NOT add the oil/egg/whatever else the cake mix box says you need - the tofu takes the place of all of these!

This was amazing. I made it with Duncan HInes German Chocolate Cake mix, and a brick of Morinu firm organic tofu. Just the richest most delicious cake ever. I used half a cup of H20, because the tofu was 349 gms not 300. Add H20 til the consistency works. "Sour" must've used the wrong tofu. - 12/30/08

I made this with a devils food cake mix and everyone loved it. Did not tell them about the tofu- and they never noticed! The batter was very thick with the 300g of tofu, I added a little more water. Served it with sugar free choc. syrup & fat free whipped cream. Will try more tofu next time. - 10/7/10

I just made this for my mom, as a mothers day cake. Not only did I love it, and my mom love it, but my brothers, that always bug me about my cooking loved it. I totally recommend it. I think next time though, I'm going to add some chocolate chips to give it more oomf...awesome either way though! - 5/9/10

There wasn’t enough moisture to combine the dry ingredients. So, it was chalky. I baked it accordingly & no dice... it burned. I tried it again following the same instructions above, except adding the recommended amount of liquid per my cake mix instructions. It’s came out rubbery & dense. Fail! - 5/5/20
