This is a great, easy and fast meal. For those that are restricting salt intake, we can easily substitute no salt added beans and low-sodium salsa! - 8/27/12

Though it might taste great, half of your daily recommended intake of sodium in a type of condiment just doesn't seem worth it. - 7/8/09

i eat this almost every day now. it's so easy to pre-make so whenever i'm running out the door for work i just grab a tupperware full. or if i can't figure out what i want to eat and i'm starving, it's there waiting :) love this! - 7/5/09

unfortunately the recipe didn't specify that CANNED black beans needed to be used. i found this out after using the dry kind. was very disappointed, but hope to try again after correcting the mistake. - 6/22/09

I've done this myself. I usually add a little soy cheese on top, heat it in the microwave and then add the salsa. It's very filling! - 10/2/07

Be sure to use a salsa you find really tasty. The salsa makes or breaks this recipe. - 8/12/13

Loved this recipe! Delicious, quick and filling. I made my bed of brown rice, and added my black beans (after rinsing and draining), a couple of tbsp of Mexicorn, and sprinkle of shredded part skim milk mozzerella, and I topped off with picante sauce (I didn't have any salsa in the house). Yum! - 7/20/11

This was really good - I'll be keeping cooked brown rice on hand from now on. I added some cheese, which was delicious, and I think I'll add some chicken the next time I make it. - 5/27/11

this is one of my favorite go-to meals. try using a sweet potato instead of all/part of the rice...easy way to get another vegetable, and it adds a good flavor with the spicy salsa and black beans! - 1/10/11

I made this and had it with a chicken breast. And added Hot sause instead of the salsa. Mmmm good. - 7/19/10
