I really liked the easiness of it, but not too happy about the sodium intake - due to the onion soup mix, I am sure. Added brocolli for color, found the meal quite boring, but the kids ate it! And the over powering onion taste wasn't for me either... perhaps half a packet??? - 2/26/09

The sodium is way too high on this.
one serving of this meal has a days total sodium allowance.
    I'll pass on this one.

Good recipe but I agree salt intake is way to high with onion soup mix. Try maybe fresh onions instead and can always use Healthier version of cream of mushroom soup that is low in the salt department. Family loved it over rice. - 7/30/10

I really liked this recipe and have been making it so frequently since I have found it. My own personal preference is to skip the beef broth, was a little to runny but otherwise its good! - 12/17/08

I really really liked this. Since the sauce is kinda runny, serving over rice (for me) is the best! Will make again for sure! - 11/14/08

I used chicken thighs, cream of chicken and chicken broth. That's what I had on hand I did not use the Lipton onion mix. I cooked on high for 4 hrs. because they were the bone in chicken thighs and 1/2 hr. before I turned it off I added frozen green beens to it, it was very yummy over brown rice. - 3/31/08

It was good, nothing fantastic, but lots of options of things to add for different flavors. I used chicken broth. Next time will add some frozen mixed vegetables about an hour before dinner. Another time might add fresh carrots and celery or change it to cubed beef and broth. Good base menu. - 1/29/08

This recipe is very bland. It would probably be okay for those who don't like any kind of spiciness in their food. Even after adding peas, salt, pepper, and putting it on rice it wasn't that great. The strong onion aftertaste was also a bit disagreeable. - 1/20/08

I love the ease of this meal and I will definately make this again but will either substitute chicken broth for the beef broth or use cubed up beef. I think those combos would work a lot better. I also used fresh mushrooms instead (it's all I had). - 1/14/08

OMG! SO good! The sauce is fantastic. Only cook it for 6 hours on low and the chicken will be perfect. I used 3 chicken breasts cuz that's all I had and it worked great. Also used chicken broth instead of beef broth cuz I thought it would work better. YUM-O! Poured it over brown rice. Perfect! - 1/9/08

    Incredible!
yummers! I followed according to plan except I didn't have mushrooms (i know key ing.), and cut the breasts in 1/2 (i feel they get too mushy in slow cooker chopped up.) sauce was divine. cooked on low 12 hours. thanks for the great recipe. lots of extra sauce - great over rice! - 11/13/07
