SO good! I used a Granny Smith apple & swapped mushrooms instead of the rice (turned out I was out of rice), & also added some diced celery. I cooked them in a skillet over low-med heat for 5 mins per side. I'll definitely make again! (Might use low sugar chunky applesauce next time just for ease) - 4/20/13

Doubled this recipe in case my two roomies might like some (in addition to my boyfriend and I). Well, these burgers came off the grill an hour ago...and there're none left! Taste is FANTASTIC. Crumble on the grill a bit, though: added an egg to the 2nd batch, and no more crumble. Will re-make! - 9/28/10

Very good burgers! We sprayed the grill with a little bit of olive oil so they wouldn't stick. They were perfect! - 3/31/08

My daughter and I made this yesterday and she wanted me to comment on them - as they are the best! We made a double batch so we could make burgers and meatballs. We used an electric skillet and they turned out perfect! - 4/18/11

I really enjoyed this. It was kind of a sticky mess to form into patties. I used poultry seasoning since I didn't have sage. I baked the patties in the oven so I could cook all 4 at the same time. - 12/2/18

I've made these many times and they taste great. The one time they were just ok turned out to be because the apples I used were flavorless. So use a nice flavorful apple and they come out wonderful. I've done them on a grill, in a skillet, and in the oven. Great every time. - 6/10/16

I did make it into a meatloaf with a glaze of ketchup, applesauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce, saw a recipe from Musselmans for an apple meatloaf and used the glaze idea from that recipe. Liked it and will make again. May add some poultry seasoning next time also.

Just enjoyed these burgers for a lunch. So tasty! I halfed the recipe & cut the spices to about half. We "Visions" found that half the recipe made into four patties served our needs best --- leaving two patties for a second meal. This is sure to be a favorite from this day on.

    God bless!

Great recipe. We cooked them on a charcoal grill that had been sprayed with cooking spray and they held together pretty well. Next time I'm going to try a grill basket. - 7/4/14

Yummy! We did them in the oven, as they would have fallen apart on the gril (as I believe others have mentioned). My husband suggested that it would make a yummy meatloaf if formed into a loaf instead of a patty, and then you could save calories on the bun! Thanks for a yummy recipe! - 7/18/13

Made them and ate them for lunch... only problem was I guess I used 1.5 lb. of ground turkey, so should have adjusted the spices accordingly. But, I did enjoy, and freeze some, will try again. thanks - 7/6/13

The reviews in my family were mixed. I did not like them. First of all the color was off putting. My brain knows that it is just because of the color of the turkey, but the gray color still looked unappetizing to me. Secondly, I didnt like the thyme and the sage flavoring. Burgers fixings helped. - 6/17/13
