I haven't tried this receipe yet but will. I just want to say I've cooked with tofu a lot. For a creamier pudding use soft silken tofu (it's stored on the shelf, not in the dairy section). I use it to make cream cicles. The soft silken tofu is creamy, doesn't separate and is wonderful for desserts. - 2/23/12

Since tofu (and other soy) is dangerous for the thyroid, what is a good substitute? - 2/14/12

Good question! I don't consume much soy either these days. I'd go with either a couple of avocados or folding the chocolate into mascarpone cheese, depending on your dietary needs and preferences. You could also try it with a neutral, full fat greek yogurt, or bananas, but I have not yet.

My whole family and I tried this recipe out and found it amazing. My grandmother who's very traditional about her cooking loved that tofu was used in this recipe. She couldn't stop talking about it. We also added in a few chocolate chips once everything was blended to add a crunch factor. Delicious! - 1/8/13

It works fine and is easy to make, but tastes a lot like Jello instant pudding, which a little lower in calories and definitely lower in fat. - 3/4/11

Using a higher quality chocolate will change the richness & depth of the pudding. Also, all the fat & calories in this recipe come from whole, natural, good for you ingredients. Please look at the ingredients for Jello instant pudding to see where its fat & calories come from: http://bit.ly/eo2xp
