Ingredients

    1 1/4 cups warm milk
    1 egg white, beaten
    2 tbsp butter
    1/4 cup honey
    3/4 tsp salt
    2 cups all purpose flour
    2 cups whole wheat flour
    1 package yeast

Directions

Add first 5 ingredients and 1 cup flour to mixing bowl and mix well. Add yeast and mix. Let mixture rest for 10 minutes, then add remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time until dough is desired consistency (dough should be nice and soft but not sticky). Spray a large bown with non stick spray and place dough inside, turning to coat, and cover tightly. Let rise until double, about 1 hour. Punch down divide into muffin tins (3 small balls to a cup to make cloverleaf rolls--makes 24 rolls). Let rise again until doubled. Bake in over at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

    Good
I think this recipe is good as is. Did not feel like one reviewer that they needed extra yeast. They rose just fine. This is just what I am learning is typical of a lot of homemade breads like this - substantial to eat and good! - 11/27/17

    Good
I used another package of yeast and no salt. they turned out fabulous! The first time I followed this recipe they didn't rise well and, although delicious, they were very dense. So I recommend mixing two packages of yeast with about 1/4 cup hot water and then following this recipe.

    Incredible!
I have made these using a similar recipe. I put all the ingredients in my bread machine and set it to the dough cycle. Once finished, I turn them out cut with a biscuit cutter and let rise. My family loves these. - 10/4/09
