You can lower the calories etc by using 93% lean turkey or chicken NOT beef. Lower the fat by using fat free feta. Omit the salt. New values approx. 195 cal, 8.1 fat, 535 sodium. Perfect. Thanks for the idea. - 3/20/09

These were really good. I struggled the last time I tried to make turkey burgers to get them moist. I used ground turkey and tomato-basil feta, skipping the oregano and these were moist and delish. Thanks! - 6/25/07

These sound really good. I will probably use turkey. I used ground chicken for another recipe and the butcher at my local meat shop thought I was nuts (though he did run it through the grinder for me). The feel of raw ground chicken was nasty ~ not something I want to do again soon. - 3/17/09

These burgers were great! I used ground turkey (like most) and a Foreman grill to cook them. I used a little less oregano but that was all I changed. We ate them on onion rolls... mmmmmm - 1/5/10

These were very good. I made them with ground turkey, but I'd recommend not using turkey breast. Though it's lower in fat, it's very dry. - 8/13/07

These were a very tasty change to the grilled burgers and chicken this summer. We did decrease the amount of feta cheese to 4 ounces and didn't add any salt, but the "burgers" sad the wonderful feta taste and great texture. - 6/11/07

My family didn't care for this at all. I love feta cheese, so it sounded great, but we didn't like it. We won't make it again, but for anyone who is planning on making it, I would definitely suggest using 1/2 the amt of oregano. Two tbsp is definitely too much. - 6/9/07

My husband was so suprised that he liked these! They were moist (don't over grill). I added an egg white and a wee bit of bread crumbs to help it stay together. I also used FF feta. Make sure you "Pam" the grill so they don't stick. Loved em! Keeper!!! Serve with grilled onions... - 6/1/07

I changed it up a bit and used fat free feta cheese - and changed the seasonings to 1/2 T Oregano - 1/2 T dried onions - 1/2 T Chives - (not really fond of Oregano - but wanted some of it in there) these were 5 WW pts instead of 7 WW pts. I tried these again used grnd chicken breast now 3 ww pts - 5/28/07

I never believed there could be a substitute for a jucy ground BEEF burger, but this recipe is absolutely delicious and guilt free and best of all, NO BUN NEEDED. Great with fresh tomatos or roasted peppers (try roasting them on the grill w/the berger, mmm). I used low fat feta and no added salt. - 5/28/07

It sounds tasty, but considering 1 gm of fat equals 9 calories x app. 20 gms of fat equals 180 fat calories. That means more than half this burger is fat and it is high sodium. You don't need added salt with feta cheese. Lean beef is less fatty than ground chicken which usually contains skin, etc. - 5/26/07
