MMNORCRO, the cake ROCKS. The family loved it, and had no clue it was "diet". Thanks for sharing! CARTERFONE, your recipe IS in Spark Recipies in the desserts section. BUT, you titled it as "Anonymous-given to me by a co-worker".. instead of diet coke cake, and that is how it is listed there. - 4/18/09

Loved it. The only problem I had was that do to the high syrup content they stuck really bad even using Pam. We made cupcakes instead of a sheet cake. Otherwise, delicious. Will make again. - 2/5/17

Roommie and I wanted to try this because it sounded so interesting. We couldn't decide on a soda, so we split the Betty Crocker cake mix in half and used two different sodas. All are delicious, but for some reason the consistency is terrible. Its very, very fluffy and falls apart easily. Ideas? - 5/5/12

This sounds good for adults, but do people worry about giving diet soda to kids? I thought they shouldn't really have fake sugar?!?!? Just curious! I would love to try this for me and my husband! - 5/15/09

I would just like to share that I submitted this recipe last year but it was ignored. It IS very good. You can use any cake mix, any diet soda. I used German Chocolate cake mix and diet 7-Up last time I made it (last July 4 ) and it was terrific. - 3/10/09

This is my favorite dessert! My friends and family can't tell the difference either. I make these into cupcakes and then make a frosting with a container of fat free cool whip and a half of package of sugar free boxed chocolate pudding. It's delish! - 3/5/09

I made this today for my birthday and OMGOSH WOW! It was so much easier than fussing with all the extra ingredients and turned out moist, chocolaty, and delish! Thank you for a wonderful birthday cake. I topped it with a thin layer of chocolate butter cream frosting. 1/4 c frosted the whole cake. - 12/19/08
