Introduction

Ingredients

    3/4 scoop vanilla whey powder (6g carbs)
    1 egg
    1/3 tsp baking powder
    2 TBS water
    1 tsp oil
    Optional : a dash of vanilla and splenda if the powder you are using is not flavored

Directions

Blend ingredients together until smooth using a fork. grease waffle maker and add to the HOT waffle griddle. Close and cook as you would a regular waffle.

Serving Size: makes 1 waffle

    Excellent waffle! I'm a carb junkie on a low carb diet and the only thing that keeps me sane is finding identical low carb substitutes for my favorite high carb foods. This waffle recipe did it. The taste and consistency was the same as a typical waffle. - 2/12/15

    Not bad. Served with blackberries and sf syrup.
    2nd attempt added in blueberries just before putting mix on waffle maker. Yummy
    5/30 - 3rd times a charm. Used 1/2 banana (mashed), and just 1 tb water

    Wow! I was pleasantly surprised:) While looking for a low carb , single serving waffle recipe, I came across this one. It was simple and quick . I topped it with a couple pieces of sausage and a little sugar free syrup and it was really good. - 2/24/15

    So, how big is the scoop? I have scoops left over from different brands of whey powder and they are definitely not the same. Some are 2-3X's as big as the smallest. This recipe needs some more detail. - 11/26/19

    I made these waffles this morning, using melted butter for the oil in the recipe. I also beat the egg whites separately & folded into the batter. This is a technique I always use when making waffles. These look exactly like waffles made with white flour. My husband loved them! These are a keeper! - 7/16/15

    These are OK, I will tweek up the flavor a bit with cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, and add a pkt of sweetener. They brown up, get that crusty delicate waffle content you crave, and so much better for you. Thanks for the recipe!! New fav!!! - 1/13/17

    I found that the batter would not completely cover the waffle iron, so I had holes not just indents in my waffle. I've been looking at the comments to see various ways of tweaking this recipe to improve it a bit.
