Introduction

Low in fat because it doesn't use mayonnaise! Low in fat because it doesn't use mayonnaise!

Ingredients

    • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
    • 2 cups red cabbage, shredded
    • 1/2 cup jicama peeled and sliced into 1/4 inch strips
    • 1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
    • 1 medium carrot, peeled and shredded
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1/2 cup medium radishes, chopped
    Ingredients for the dressing:
    • 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
    • 3 tablespoons water
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped

Directions

1. In a small bowl, combine ingredients for dressing. Mix well.



2. Toss with cabbage mixture in a large bowl and chill for 2 hours before serving.



Serves 6.

    I used a bag of slaw mix from Publix. A small sprinle of Celery salt. Left out the salt and the peppers, radishes, and jicama . Grined some fresh black pepper in it as well. My hubbie is very picky about his slaw, and he liked this!
    AND I can eat it too!!!

    Really enjoyed this slaw. I used my food processor and chopped the veggies small like KFC. I also omitted the jimcama and added a small apple. I also added a few jalapeno slices finely chopped because Iike a kicks in my slaw... - 12/7/11

    I have this type of salad most everyday during the summer months....Some one ask about taste with no Mayo.....Way better than with....I make it more Asian than this but here is just another salad for lunch...
