Ingredients

    1 tbsp olive oil
    2 tbsp Hormel bacon bits (real pieces)
    1 large onion, diced
    2 garlic gloves, minced
    1 tsp pepper
    2 cups chicken broth
    1/2 tsp red pepper
    1 lb collard greens

Directions

Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Add bacon bits. Add collard greens and cook until they start to wilt.
Pour in chicken broth and season with pepper and red pepper. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
