I enjoyed having a Vegan recipe! We do not eat eggs so it was nice to have something different for breakfast. My daughter loved it so that helped a lot! - 2/3/08

Maybe people are missing the whole point of no eggs? It is a Vegan recipe. Vegans do not eat eggs. Soy millk isn't too sweet if the unsweetened is used. It contains 1gr of sugar. I WILL be making this and using pure maple sugar sparingly with loads of fresh fruit topping. YUM! - 2/16/09

I make this french toast often for my kids (and myself) They love it and it is so simple. I use a whole grain bread (I don't know where the previous reviewer got the idea you needed to use white flour and white bread) and it adds a great nutty taste. Plus nutritional yeast is healthy and delicious - 2/16/09

I love vegan french toast! I still think I prefer "Fronch Toast" from Vegan With A Vengeance, but this one is still good!

Happy to see a vegan recipe featured!

What a great recipe idea. I think I will add some soy protein powder to my recipe to increase the protein in the meal. Also you can use Rice Syrup instead of maple! - 2/16/08

I'm going to make this for my trip to my (non vegan) mom's house. I'll use vanilla almond milk though, as we love the flavour (I'll use sweetened so I don't have to add anymore sweetener). That and I might just make a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread ahead of time and bring it with us. - 3/5/13

I consider myself to be an excellent cook, but the bread was not binding right! It was so soggy and had nothing to hold it together, so when I tried flipping it I ended up with a mushy mess and a bunch of stuff burnt onto my pan. What a waste of food. - 12/4/11

I love this recipe. I add a bit of vanilla and a bunch of cinnamon, use ww pastry flour, almond milk, oatmeal bread. YUM. I usually just do a single serving and whip it up quickly before work. Great with blackstrap molasses.

And yes, people are totally missing the point.

These were very simple and easy. I cook these on a cookie sheet sprayed with non stick spray under the broiler since I don't have all non stick skillets and they were not coming out right just spraying the skillet. This worked out better I could do more at a time. - 2/21/09

This does not sound good at all. I don't like soy milk, it is too sweet, and flour? no. I use egg beaters with cinnamon it is good. - 2/16/09

I know there are recipes out there that can be made healthier, but sometimes the old fashioned way or just the way mom makes it tastes so much better. :-) But having said that, I may try it once just to see how it tastes. The real critic is my 8 year old daughter. - 8/20/08

This sounds good, but I think useing egg whites with other flavor's works just fine and doesn't have all the calories. - 1/16/08
