Introduction

I really enjoy this "comfort food" on a cold, rainy day. I really enjoy this "comfort food" on a cold, rainy day.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 lb ground beef
    1 tbsp cooking oil
    1 chopped onion
    1 tsp salt
    1/8 tsp pepper
    3 tbsp raw long grain rice
    1 10 oz can tomato soup
    3 cups coarsely chopped cabbage

Directions

In large frying pan sear the beef in oil for a minute or two, add onion, salt, pepper and rice. Mix well while gently sauteeing for two to three minutes. Add soup and water. Mix well. Turn cabbage into a greased 13 by 9 inch baking dish or casserole dish. Pour meat mixture evenly over raw cabbage. Do not stir. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours at 325 to 350 degrees.

    I think I'd just leave out the salt to cut down on sodium and sub garlic powder. Sounds delicious, I'll try it soon! - 11/18/08
