Easy, easy, easy! The flavor was very mild. I took off the broth and thickened it in a pan on the stove. Next time I would add green beans, onions, celery and some poultry seasoning for a more intense flavor. Very healthy recipe that I will make again with my additives! - 3/27/07

Good recipe. Instead of the soup mix and water, I'd add homeade chicken broth sans the sodium, and season with your favorite herbs instead of the higher sodium soup mix. Any veggies would work well that you like. Also if you like the flavor of the onion soup mix just use dehydrated onions instead. - 8/5/09

I love these throw together meals in a cooker. I did however add poultry seasoning and chicken broth base instead of the onion soup and then added mushrooms and celery instead of potatoes. My husband thought it was the best thing next to sliced bread. - 8/5/09

I use lo-sodium/FF chicken broth and add dried herbs (parsley, sage, thyme, rosemary, oregano); plus onions, carrots and smashed garlic cloves. Adding quarterd mushrooms about 45 minutes before done. - 8/6/09

Very easy to make. I modified it to feed more people and the cooking time was different. It took almost 3 hours on high to get soft potatoes and carrots. The flavor was mild but still I felt like I was having pot roast. It makes a great meal to cook on the weekend & portion out for your lunches - 3/15/07

Pretty good. I enjoyed the flavoring of the vegetables more than the chicken, which was a bit bland. Everything was juicy and tender, though, so I would make it again and perhaps add some additional seasoning. - 1/30/08

Super Easy to make. Not sure why one said it was hard! I hate cooking, so this was a real blessing to be able to throw this altogether in a few minutes. I used baking potatoes instead of red ones, which probably ups the calories a bit. Thanks for this great and very EASY recipe! - 6/11/07

My husband LOVED this recipe. I thought it was okay. He is much more of a "meat and potatoes" guy so this was right up his alley. The previous poster compared it to a pot roast -- that is probably why he loved it! Anyway, very simple to make and very much a "traditional Sunday dinner" recipe. - 4/3/07

I liked it but the sodium content was a killer! Next time, I'll only use 1 pkg of soup (I like the flavoring). I used 3 cups of lower sodium chicken broth, canned potatoes (rinsed) & no salt added green beans. - 10/9/09

It doesn't get any easier than 4 or 5 ingrediants in acrock pot and put the lid on! this is really good... I added about 4 chicken bullion( SP?) cubes and seasoned the chicken with a bit of this and that.. I added baby peas at the end.. it was really good!! thanks for sharing...

Would be a good idea to recalculate the calories and sodium on this if you make it, as even a tiny 4 oz. chicken breast has half again as many calories as estimated here, and it looks like the amount of onion soup mix is also underestimated. - 11/15/09

I think this is my DH's new favorite. He cleaned the pot! Then asked why I didn't make more.
Like the rest of you I used broth instead of the soup mix. My DH dislikes onion. I put in a couple of cloves of garlic and the potatoes. Thickend the broth when it was done for gravy.

Definitely have my doubts about this recipe. Calls for more liquid than a typical slowcooker recipe. Calories are surely too low. And - as I feared - 1 1/2 hours on high is not enough time. Still waiting for it to finish. No 8 hours of sleep tonight! - 3/2/10
