I have used this recipe for years but the instructions specifically state NOT to use DIET COKE!!! Heating up Nutrasweet or other artificial sweeteners is not recommended. Except for Splenda. - 1/16/09

This reciped was great. I was worried about heating NutraSweet, so I used Diet Rite Cola (Splenda), and it worked fine. I did add garlic and a bit of mustard powder to the sauce for a little more kick. I will surely make this again. - 1/24/09

For anyone worried about the sodium count, simply use Diet Rite - it's sodium free. As for the sugar levels in ketchup, how about using Heinz Low Carb ketchup. Then add some of your own favorite seasonings. Also, why worry about the lack of fiber...it's a chicken recipe. Have it with crunchy veggies - 12/8/07

We were all pleasantly surprised by this dish at my house! Nice sweet sauce. Used Dr. Pepper, so it had an interesting little zing in the sauce. I didn't have high hopes, and my husband was very skeptical. An A+ surprise!! - 2/16/09

This is the first dish I've cooked in a long time that my picky mother complimented. Hubby and 5-year-old ate every bite. Added mustard powder, garlic powder, and half a packet of onion soup. Served with cheesy cornbread muffins and a green salad. Making it again for brother and sis-in-law Sunday. - 2/19/10

Delicious! I found that I have to take the chicken out after it cooks through, then turn the heat up and whisk the sauce while it boils and thickens, then re-add the chicken just until warm, otherwise the chicken gets rubbery.
I plan to make it again this week and I am going to try Diet Dr Pepper.

I have been using this recipe with one change we use salsa instead of the ketchup. Depending on the heat of the salsa or if using a salsa with pineapple or mango the flavor is wonderful. Also, I have sauted onions, mushrooms, and peppers in a separate pan then place on done chicken and top w/cheese! - 3/24/10

I thought it was pretty good. I do want to say that I think it should be more like 6 servings depending on the size of the chicken breast. Mine were 8oz each (hugh) and 3oz is the corect portion of chicken. So I cut all the chicken in half, which cuts the sugar and sodium in half as well. - 2/15/08

You can't heat aspartame is because it loses its sweetness upon cooking. However, the ketchup has more than enough to make up for it. The "cola" flavor will still be evident. Also, the sodium content in soda is NOT at all high. 20-50mg is nothing. Electrolytes are needed daily. Sodium and potassium - 12/7/12
