For anyone worried about the sodium count, simply use Diet Rite - it's sodium free. As for the sugar levels in ketchup, how about using Heinz Low Carb ketchup. Then add some of your own favorite seasonings. Also, why worry about the lack of fiber...it's a chicken recipe. Have it with crunchy veggies - 12/8/07

This is the first dish I've cooked in a long time that my picky mother complimented. Hubby and 5-year-old ate every bite. Added mustard powder, garlic powder, and half a packet of onion soup. Served with cheesy cornbread muffins and a green salad. Making it again for brother and sis-in-law Sunday. - 2/19/10

Oh my god this tastes sooo good :) I made it today using half ketchup half bbq sauce and it is just great! I used more chicken and added some vegies (carrot, peas and capsicum/red peppers) too. Yum! Made it for lunch and I'm eating leftovers for dinner now over rice. WIll def make it again :) - 8/8/08

Delicious! I found that I have to take the chicken out after it cooks through, then turn the heat up and whisk the sauce while it boils and thickens, then re-add the chicken just until warm, otherwise the chicken gets rubbery.
I plan to make it again this week and I am going to try Diet Dr Pepper. - 3/14/10

I have been using this recipe with one change we use salsa instead of the ketchup. Depending on the heat of the salsa or if using a salsa with pineapple or mango the flavor is wonderful. Also, I have sauted onions, mushrooms, and peppers in a separate pan then place on done chicken and top w/cheese! - 3/24/10

You can't heat aspartame is because it loses its sweetness upon cooking. However, the ketchup has more than enough to make up for it. The "cola" flavor will still be evident. Also, the sodium content in soda is NOT at all high. 20-50mg is nothing. Electrolytes are needed daily. Sodium and potassium - 12/7/12

WOW!!! So easy to make & while it took a little while to simmer down the sauce till it was as thick as I like it, it was well worth the wait. I can't wait to have the leftovers tomorrow. You really know how to cook. Who would have ever thought these 3 things would be so amazing together. YUM!!!!! - 3/1/10

I was not sure about this recipe but thought it sounded interesting. I used Diet coke with Lime for the soda pop. When I put it on the table my family gobbled it down. It is now one of the requested meals in my family. I have also adapted the recipe using Diet Dr. Pepper and Barbeque. Try it! - 10/28/07

This is delicious! I have to admit, when I cooked it the first time, it made me a little nervouse watching the soda/ketchup simmer... But I stuck with it & ate it & it was great! You can modify the recipe very easily, by using low sodium sugar or adding different spices/ingredients to the sauce. - 10/1/07
