Introduction

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    * *Flour, white, 1 cup
    * *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
    * Baking Powder, 3 tsp
    * Baking Soda, .25 tsp
    * Granulated Sugar, 2 tsp
    * Parkay, Light Original Spread Margarine, .25 cup
    * Buttermilk, lowfat, 1 cup
    * Salt, .25 tsp

Directions

Mix together dry ingredients.
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles fine crumbles.
Make a well in the center.
Add buttermilk all at once.
Stir until well mixed.

Dollop onto parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Cover and freeze. When frozen seal in an airtight container and return to freezer.

To bake... Preheat oven to 475*.
Place required servings on a greased (or sprayed with Pam cookie sheet).
Bake 15-18 minutes or until golden brown on top.

    These were pretty good. I might try using pastry wheat flour next time, so that they are more fluffy. I ate these with sausage gravy, but I think they would be best with jelly. Thanks for a good recipe! - 8/14/11

    Question. In the ingredients list it says 1/4 cup margarine. But when I look in the ingredients details it says 1 Tbsp of margarine. Regarding fat and calories this will make a difference. So which which was used? .25 cup or 1 Tbsp of margarine. - 6/24/08

    I made this recipe but instead of white flour I used spelt flour and omitted the sugar.Also I rolled the biscuits instead of drop. The biscuits were great - 11/25/07
