This is a delicious casserole and a small amount does a lot to fill you up. If you are looking for a hearty no-meat meal I would recommend this. - 1/26/11

I couldn't find red lentils and had to use brown ones, but this turned out great and was really tasty. - 6/23/08

I had never tried lentils before but saw a dish prepared on The Biggest Loser using them. I found this recipe and gave it a try. It is fantastic! I didn't even bake it in the oven, just used a big deep skillet on the stovetop. I used diced tomatoes instead of tomato paste, too. - 2/9/08

Great, I will make this again. I found a blend of carrots, celery and onions in the frozen food section which really made this easy. This was also the first time I cooked lentils. I added garlic just because and this was a very tasty dish. - 10/6/09

Instead of tomato soup, I used a can of tomatoes. I also cut the chili powder to 1 tsp. instead of 1 tbs. (I don't like really hot food.) My husband really liked it. I liked it too, but not as much as he did. - 1/24/08

Such a versatile recipe, allowing me to substitute quinoa for the rice, different veggies as I wish, even different types of soup or no soup at all. Love adding spinach directly to the recipe. It is great for breakfast with an egg "fried" in Pam over the top. - 4/4/12

So, I didn't have regular tomato soup, but had a carton of Parmesan flavored tomato bisque. I used that and mozz cheese instead of swiss. Then I halved the chili powder and added some Italian seasoning. It was soooooo good. My husband agrees. - 11/4/10

I made this for my family last night (15 year old brother and parents). Honestly they all seemed to like it A LOT more than I did. But I think every cook is a tad more critical of their own work!! Also wanted to point out your cals are off. The brown rice value is for cooked measurements. - 3/7/08

This was a pretty tasty recipe. I have been looking for lentil ideas so I was glad to find this. I used monterey jack cheese instead of swiss and it was pretty good. - 2/13/08

Really enjoyed this recipe. Had to alter it quite a bit to use what I had on hand so I created a makeover recipe. I cut mine into 10 pieces so the calories were only 82 a serving. Used canned tomato in place of tomato paste & soup. Used frozen onion/pepper blend and no mushrooms. - 4/6/16

This was great! I didn't have any chili powder on hand so I just threw in some dried garlic flakes with my veggies while they were sauteing. It was great! Also, I used low fat mozzarella cheese cause I couldn't find swiss at our local grocer. Will definitely make again! - 3/4/13

This is such a good recipe! I added a few crumbled Premium Plus crackers over the Swiss cheese and its even better! Thank you so much for sharing. I froze the leftovers and its delicious even when reheated in Microwave =) - 4/2/12

This is a really great recipe! I altered it to fit my taste, and it took beautifully to it! I don' t like swiss, so I used reduced fat italian blend cheese. I will admit to adding a little more, and, like others, reduced the chili powder. My friends and I really loved this comforting dish! - 10/30/11

We love lentils and this recipe didn't disappoint! Even my meat-loving husband enjoyed it! I added some zucchini because I had one to use up, but otherwise I prepared the recipe as is. - 2/3/11

I thought this would be kinda boring since it is such a simple recipe, but I liked the nutritional info and had all the ingredients on hand one night. Boy, was I wrong, it was FANTASTIC and filling! Even my meatatarian boyfriend loved it! I will DEFINATELY be making this again and again! - 8/25/10
