Ingredients
-
1 tube refrigerated bread dough, whole wheat if possible
3 slices turkey bacon, cooked
1 teaspoon dried thyme or 2 teaspoons fresh
sprinkle red pepper flakes (optional)
Tips
Remove the bacon from the heat when just cooked. It will crisp up in the oven during the second baking.

Make a batch on the weekend and keep handy for hungry teenage boys (and their parents)!
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly dust a cutting board with flour. Place the dough on a cutting board and unroll into a rectangle. Spray the side of the dough that's face up with nonstick cooking spray. Place the bacon strips on the dough then sprinkle on the thyme. Roll the dough back into its original shape. Cut into 1/2 inch thick slices and place on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Bake 15 minutes or until just golden in color.
Makes 12 rolls, 2 rolls per serving.

First off she can use how many rolls in the picture she wants. Second she even said crushed red pepper so that may account for the chopped red bits. Second how about stop complaining and just make the damn thing and see if you like it or not. Just be thankful she shared with you a new idea. - 9/18/12

I tried this recipe, it was quite good, but mine did not look anything like the picture (they looked like crap...but tasted good). What is the "red stuff"???? Anyway, I'll try this again, because I love any recipe that calls for bacon, may it be turkey or pork. Just wish mine looked like the pic! - 9/17/12

"Make a batch on the weekend and keep handy for hungry teenage boys (and their parents)!"
Teenaged girls can have a salad or go hungry, eh?
It seems strange that a fitness site would go along with, "Oh, yes, growing boys need to satisfy their appetites!" while ignoring that girls grow too. - 9/17/13

I liked these. I doubled the bacon and used a pizza crust because it was what i had available. They're easy, low mess, and a nice spin on breakfast. I think next time I'll sprinkle a little flax seed in there before laying down the bacon. They're bagged in pairs to take to work the rest of the week. - 1/27/14

I am fully with people who want real representations of actual recipes to be shown. I don't want to be misled. What draws me to a recipe is the photo, if one is available, and it should be a real photo of the item being presented. Chef Meg should be professional enough to know better, by now. - 10/26/12

Not to sound stupid but, what is refrigerated bread dough? In the picture it looks like they used cinnabuns with out the icing. - 9/17/12

Happy to help. It is found in the section of the market next to dinner rolls, biscuits, usually sandwiched between cheese and yogurt. Chef Meg
