Introduction

I modified this from the Ellen Show (10-05-10). Made it for the Superbowl and put it out with the "other" queso. It ran out first. It's a great faux cheese for nachos. The uses are endless. You can add anything to it... Don't forget to add your chips to your tracker. ;-) I modified this from the Ellen Show (10-05-10). Made it for the Superbowl and put it out with the "other" queso. This is disgusting! I would never make this again in my life. I don't know what everyone was raving about. Maybe it was the tofu I used or the chili powder but this dish was revolting. - 2/12/11

Disappointment, thy name be "OMG it's Tofu Queso." This was bland and lifeless. Only after adding 4 jalapeno peppers, 3 T. nutritional yeast, 2 t. Sriracha, 1/2 t. Tabasco sauce, 1/2 T. taco seasoning, 1 shallot, and 1/4 c. cherry tomatoes have I gotten to where I want this stuff anywhere near me. - 6/6/13

I have made this a couple time now and love it, it is a great substitute for processed cheese dips! If you like cheese dip warm, this can be heated in the microwave, for 20 seconds at a time, then stirring and repeating as needed. Careful not to overheat, as it will separate if overcooked. - 11/19/10

I am totally going to try this. I plan to add some nutritional yeast (which tends to lend a cheesy flavor) and possibly some miso paste. Looks awesome - thanks for sharing, can't wait to try it! - 5/14/10

I made this today. Tofu was literally 1 dollar here - I couldn't pass it up. I didn't add any water since can't squeeze water out of the soft tofu I bought. I put in some Chipotle seasoning along with the seasonings listed. It was interesting. Definitely something to play with but something QUICK!&l - 2/28/11

This was delicious. I did however think it calls for too much chili powder for my taste. I will also cut out the water next time I makes this. I will make this for my super bowl party this year :) - 11/15/10

I adjusted the heat way down and it was fine. Not nearly as good as Velveta queso, but it will do. - 9/22/19

Needs alot of doctoring: see VOKOLOV post . The addition of nutritional yeast makes it much cheesier. - 3/12/19

I wonder if you could use greek yogurt instead of mayo to add more protein? Not a fan of the taste of mayo. - 6/27/17

Not as good as expected but I'm used to queso with a rich cheese taste. But after adding a can of diced tomatoes and jalapeños and another small can of jalapeños it was pretty tasty! - 2/23/13
