Introduction

This is my basic hummus recipe. You can customize it however you would like it...add in cayenne, red peppers, olives etc. This is my basic hummus recipe. You can customize it however you would like it...add in cayenne, red peppers, olives etc.

Ingredients


    Chickpeas (garbanzo beans), 3 cup
    *Tahini, 8 tbsp
    Garlic, 4 clove rough chop
    *Lemon Juice, 2 lemon yields
    Salt, 1 tsp
    *Extra Light Olive Oil, 1 tbsp

Directions

Soak chickpeas overnight, drain and rinse. Put chickpeas in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a rapid boil. Cover and turn down to low heat for about an hour (or until they are soft). Drain and let cool a little. Put in food processor along with garlic, lemon juice, salt and tahini. Stream in olive oil and process to desired consistency.

If it is too thick, you can add a little water to help.
