Ingredients

white or brown rice--nutrition values given for brown rice
lean ground beef
onion
tonatoe sauce
pepper
oregano
parsley flakes
cottage cheese
shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
Have ready 2 C. cooked rice.
Brown in large skillet:
1 lb lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
Add:
2 c. tomato sauce
1tsp garlic
dash of pepper
1/4 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. parsley flakes
Cover and simmer 15 minutes.
Combine:
1.5 C cottage cheese
cooked rice
Put 1/3 of rice mixture in a buttered 2 qt casserole. Top with 1/3 of meat-tomato sauce. Continue to alternate layers ending with tomato sauce. Sprinkle with :
1/2 C. shredded cheese
Bake at 325 for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
